New year; new beginning. Sounds clichΓ©, yep? But, no doubt, this is the time where almost everyone is motivated and very eager to change and/or try something new. For the past years, I’ve been one of them; perhaps ‘til now. I don’t really know why I got used to the thought that whenever I want to change a thing about myself (by that, I mean, change for the better), I’m always waiting for a new year to finally take an act. Isn’t that a waste of time?
If you’ll ask me if I’ve learned something from the past year, I would definitely answer I’ve learned a lot, but there’s one thing that stood out among them; that is not to wait for another day, week, or year to make a change and/or try something new. The act should always start NOW. Whenever we think of changing something or trying something that’s out of the line, we should take action right from the moment that that thought popped up. Why wait for another day, week, or year to come if we have all the chances to do it right now? “Later could turn to never,” they say, so definitely, waiting for that so-called moment before doing something might just be a waste of a better person that we could become.
And this is the thing that I should tell myself over and over again until that habit of “waiting before doing” will be gone.
On the other note, I’ve been trying to remember what have happened the past year, but it feels like it has been quite a blur. It’s as if it has gone by quite too quickly. Did it or it’s just my life that has been a little uneventful? Nevertheless, 2015 has, unequivocally, been a good year. There were certainly rough and smooth moments, and though that year might have been quite a humdrum (for me), one thing is for sure, the past year has helped me to grow up a little bit more.
365 of 365. I’m now closing this book and now ready to open a new one. Let’s hug 2016 with a hello and cheers to another great year ahead!
